The U-series modules enable the users to implement IEEE802.15.4 or ZigBee compliant 

systems. They are derived from the U-series module by attaching a pin-header 2x14 

(pitch: 2.54mm) to the interface board. Flexible RF connectors including SMA and SMC are

implemented. Through the GSG (ground-signal-ground) interface on the U-series modules, 

the RF loss is kept to less than 0.3dB. The core of the Dot-series modules also use UBEC’s 

UZ2400, the 802.15.4 compliant RF transceiver IC which features a maximum of 5 MHz serial 

interface SPI bus for control and data transfer.

ZD0130-05 RF Module Overview

The ZD0130-05 module is an IEEE 802.15.4 compliant solution that satisfies the requirements

of low-cost and low-power wireless applications. The module, containing UBEC’s UZ2400

silicon version D and other necessary components, operates in the ISM 2.4 GHz frequency

band. The corresponding MCU can accesses to various UZ2400 internal subunits, such as

registers, FIFOs, and security key table, via a 4-wire SPI bus. Its small form factor saves the

valuable board spaces and provides a reliable delivery of critical data between the devices.

The ZD0130-05 is modularized in a 24-pin 10x18 mm² PCB with a Chip Antenna.

ZD0130-21 RF Module Overview
