HSINCHU, Taiwan, Aug 18, 2006 -
UBEC (Uniband Electronic Corp.), a Taiwan-based RF/mixed-signal IC
design house announced today that its LNA IC -- UA2725
working with Asia Fortune Electronic’s (AFE) USB dongle
for DVB-T applications had passed BSMI certification.
The USB dongle consists of UBEC’s LNA IC UA2725, and
Maxlinear’s Tuner, Zarlink’s Demodulator and USB
controller.
The items tested include BSMI Item 4.5 – Performance
with Adjacent Channel DVB-T interference, BSMI Item 4.6
– Multipath Interference and BSMI Item 4.7 – Impulsive
Interference tests. At present, BSMI is the most
rigorous DVB-T performance test in the world and the
Taiwan DVB-T industry has scheduled to meet this
standard in 2008.
UA2725 is a 3.3V wideband LNA IC optimized for operation
from 0.05GHz to 4GHz with internal input/output
matching, and available in a 6-pin SOT363/SC-70 plastic
package. There are two gain steps control using UA2725,
for small signal, the gain is 20 dB at 2.2 GHz and P1dB
is over -1.5dBm at 2.5GHz, while for large signal,
UA2725 can perform 18dB attenuation and iP1dBm is over 0
dBm. UA2725
is unconditionally stable and consumes only 40 mW of
power.
In the near future, DVB-T product would become the
mainstream and have a dramatically boost in the market.
Therefore, passed BSMI test, UBEC’s UA2725 IC can
provides more reliable applications on DVB-T products
and other potential wireless applicability, and the best
products, solutions and services.
