UBEC Launches UW2452, High Performance
Multi-Mode & Full-Band 802.11a/g WLAN

UW2452, The Smallest and Most Integrated 802.11a/g Transceiver in the World |
HSINCHU, Taiwan and MILPITAS, Calif., Dec. 14 --
UBEC (Uniband Electronic Corp.), a leading
fabless semiconductor company specializing in
WLAN RF transceivers, ZigBee(TM)-ready
(802.15.4-compliant IC) single chip, WLAN/Bluetooth
Power Amplifiers and Broadband Amplifiers for
satellite receiver, announced delivering UW2452,
an highly integrated 802.11a/g WLAN transceiver
to customers.
UW2452 is the first 802.11a/g transceiver
from Asia supporting full-band operation
from 2.4 to 2.5 GHz (11g) and 4.9 to 5.9 GHz
(11a/HypreLAN) including the recently IEEE
rectified channel frequencies used in
Japan(802.11j). UW2452 features an advanced
transceiver architecture and innovative
frequency planning to ensure the best
performance and the lowest cost. It
integrates a dual band RF front end, triple
VCOs, Sigma-Delta PLL, VGA, RSSI, RX channel
filters and advanced calibration circuits
such as VCO calibration. UW2452 further
improves from UW2451 (11g transceiver) the
RX DC cancellation gain settling time based
on an approved patented design. While the
UW2452 transmitter achieves -30 dB EVM at -6
dBm transmit power for the 4.9~5.9 GHz band
and -3 dBm for the 2.4~2.5 GHz band with
OFDM signaling and has a 32 dB TX gain
control range, its receiver realizes a 4 dB
noise figure for the 4.9~5.9 GHz band and 3
dB for the 2.4~2.5 GHz band and handles a
maximum OFDM input signal more than 0 dBm.
UW2452 is housed in a 48 pin 7x7 mm2 QFN
package, the smallest form factor for 11a/g
transceivers in the world and uses the same
RF to baseband interface as UW2451 does,
such that UBEC's 11g customers can easily
migrate to complete 11a/g system design from
existing 11g design.

UBEC近日宣布推出目前亞洲第一顆802.11a
/g (2.4~2.5 GHz for 11g以及4.9~5.9
GHz for 802.11a and HypreLAN)全頻射頻晶片,可以應用於近日IEEE修改通過的WiFi日本頻段(802.11j)。UBEC以最先進的系統以及分頻設計,生產出最佳性能以及最低成本的UW2452。UW2452
整合了雙模RF
front end, 三顆VCO,
Sigma- Delta鎖相迴路,
VGA, RSSI, RX 低通濾波器,以及VCO校正等先進電路。UW2452的專利設計更進一步改良其802.11g射頻晶片UW2451的RX

改變增益所需的穩定時間。UW2452的TX在4.9~5.9
GHz頻段可以達到的輸出功率-6
dBm (EVM -30 dB),在2.4~2.5

UW2452的封裝為48pin
7x 7 mm2 QFN,是目前全世界最小的11a/g
射頻晶片,其RF與B/B相通的介面與UW2451一樣,如此使用UBEC
