HSINCHU, Taiwan and MILPITAS, Calif., Nov. 3, 2004 –
UBEC (Uniband Electronic Corp.), a leading wireless
communication IC design house specialized in WLAN RF
transceiver, ZigBeeTM- ready 802.15.4-
compliant IC and satellite receiver, has rolled out
three linear power amplifiers (PA) for WLAN 802.11a,
802.11b/g and Bluetooth applications.
Both UP2206 and UP2206L are two-stage linear power
amplifiers at 2.4 GHz ISM band with integrated power
detectors and housed in a QFN 3x3 mm^2 package. These
PAs feature low current (1~2 mA) power control input so
that no extra driver IC is required.
UP2206 is optimized for general WLAN 802.11b/g devices
with input matching and the best performance on market.
At 19 dBm output power with 54 Mbps OFDM modulation, it
realizes a 2.8% EVM while consuming only 130 mA at 3.3V
supply.
UP2206L is the low current and pin-to-pin compatible
cousin of UP2206 and the market leader of ultra low
current PA for Bluetooth and WLAN 802.11b/g solutions.
At 16 dBm output power with 54 Mbps OFDM modulation, it
achieves 2.3% EVM while taking merely 65 mA at 3.3V
supply. UP2206L has a high linear gain of 28 dB and high
P1dB of 24.5 dBm as well as an extremely low power down
current of just 0.2 uA.
UBEC’s third WLAN PA, UP2211, is a linear broadband
amplifier at 4.9~5.9 GHz, an ideal PA for 802.11a
applications. Housed in QFN3X3 package, UP2211 reaches a
high gain of 27dB and 3.5% EVM at 18 dBm output power.
Being a highly integrated part, UP2211 not only has
embedded input matching, but also requires no external
output matching. This leads to the lowest BOM, reduces
WLAN devices design effort, and accelerates wireless
